1. What are the rules? Am I allowed to post sexy stuff?

We encourage you to post sexy stuff. We’re not like some of the other social networks you may have belonged to where your content is policed, censored, and sometimes randomly deleted. We have some basic rules governing the basic legality of what you post and around commercial activity, but other than that, our members are adults and we treat them that way.  Check out the rules here, then start having fun.

2. One of the site features isn’t working for me, but it seems to be working for everyone else. What do I do?

My Backseam supports Firefox and IE8 on Windows XP SP3 and above, and Firefox and Safari on OSX. Some users on IE8 have found they get better site functioning on Firefox and switching browsers has cleared up all of their issues.

If you are using a supported browser and are still having issues, please post your issue in Getting the Kinks Out, or contact us and we’ll be happy to give you a hand.

If you’re just plain confused by how something works, please also feel free to ask for help, anytime. We’re happy to lend a hand.

3. How Do I Turn Off Notifications?

You can customize your email notification preferences on your profile page under Settings — > Notifications

4. Can I chat with other members?

Yes, use the Chat drop down menu at the top of the site, or select “Chat” on your profile page.

5. Why didn’t my post or photo show up in the site-wide activity stream?

Only items that are marked “Public” or are conducted in a public area of the site will appear on the site-wide activity stream because it’s visible to anyone who visits mybackseam.com. Therefore, your activity in private or hidden groups doesn’t post to the Activity Stream and neither do photos that you post to your album that are marked anything but “Public”.

Photos posted to a Group gallery show up in the Activity stream when the group admin publishes them or someone comments on a photo in a Group gallery.

6. How can I help?

There are a few really important things you can do to help make this the best nylon fetish community in the world.  The first is to please help us bring in more wonderful people who really love pantyhose and stockings, by inviting your friends, tweeting about us, blogging about the site, sharing our photos, sharing your photos that our hosted here, etc.

• Please recommend us to your friends who love nylon. The social network on My Backseam is 100% free and everything you are using on the site now will remain free, so you can feel comfortable inviting your friends to come and join the fun here. Sharing links to our content on other sites is also a great way to spread the word and get your friends to check us out.

• We have provided some photos here that you can feel free to take for your personal collection, as well as use to illustrate blog posts, add to your Tumblr or Posterous accounts, or share on Flickr. We just ask that you retain the MyBackseam.com watermark so people know where to find us if they run across them.

The second category of thing you can do to help is assist new friends you see having trouble using any of the site features. Please feel free to jump in and answer questions if you know the answer. We welcome and are grateful for your help, especially given this is an international community covering many time zones.

Also, have piles of fun. This isn’t necessarily helpful, it just makes us happy.

7. If I’m allowed to post nudity elsewhere on the site, why can’t I post nudity in my avatar photos?

Think about it. Do you want to be faced with a wall of cocks every time you log into the site?

Neither do we.

8. Can I block all contact from another member?

At the moment, the site doesn’t have that capability, but it’s on the schedule for future development. If you are being bothered by unwanted contact from another member, please contact us immediately and we will help.
